The Brain Initiative LLC is led by the dynamic team of Drs. Dean & Ayesha Sherzai, world-renowned neurologists, who are Co-Directors of the Alzheimer’s Prevention Program at Loma Linda University Medical Center.
Their initiative is based on applications from their best-selling book called “The Alzheimer’s Solution”, which describes how people improve brain health and drastically reduce their chances of getting Alzheimer’s and dementia.
Challenge
The Brain Initiative LLC was looking for a technology partner with extensive experience in the development of multiplatform mobile apps with intuitive navigations and great UX. The app had to be designed to help people optimize their brain health by organizing daily activities and encouraging positive habits that help ensure optimal brain activity.

The app was designed to utilize the findings from thousands of studies to identify healthy lifestyle behaviors and create a comprehensive protocol built around factors such as genetic, medical, and lifestyle to generate an accurate brain health score.
The app enables users to implement lifestyle changes in their daily lives to heal and improve brain health, thereby reducing the risk of brain illnesses, Alzheimer’s etc., later in life.
The solution completely complies with HIPAA standards for collecting and exchanging all patient data over the cloud. Folio3 designed the apps’ UI/UX to be intuitive and very easy to navigate for non-tech-savvy people, especially since the target audience was older people with Alzheimer’s who would be interacting with the app on a daily basis.
Result
Folio3 developed native apps for The Brain Initiative LLC., on both the App Store and Google Play Store. The app was part of an end-to-end digital health system, that enabled the client to implement the practices and interventions from the book “The Alzheimer’s Solution” by Drs. Dean & Ayesha Sherzai.
The app was rolled out through their practice and other related bodies working on helping people optimize their brain health through carefully designed and customized lifestyle changes.
