In this post I’ll show you how to add a static block or widget to your Magento search results pages. As you know, Magento does offer the option of using a static block on category pages but if you want to use it on your search results pages or any other page in Magento, you will need to tweak the settings a bit. Below are the steps you need to perform on the Magento admin panel, in order to static block or widget to your Magento search results pages.

  1. Go to Content -> Widgets
  2. Select Add New Widget
  3. Select the ‘type’ as CMS Static Block
  4. Select Design Package/Theme And Continue
  5. Set the Widget Title, Store and Sort Order in the storefront properties tab
  6. Select static block from in the widget options tab
  7. Save the widget
  8. Click on the Add Layout Update button
  9. Select Option from the ‘Display on‘ dropdown menu, for e.g. select ‘Specified Page’ to display the block on specific page such as the Quick Search form
