SimplyThick LLC develops innovative technologies and solutions for people with swallowing problems. Their patented thickening gel helps dysphagic patients, by thickening food and beverages, enabling them to be swallowed more easily.
SimplyThick has a sizeable field sales force. Their sales process was paper based and involved sales reps taking orders from customers in the field and manually them in their NetSuite ERP, back in the office. This obviously involved a lot of effort of time. SimplyThick wanted to digitize this process by developing a NetSuite mobile app (for iOS and Android) that would enable its sales reps to place orders directly in NetSuite, from their smartphones. Once orders were fulfilled in NetSuite, they also wanted to sync their shipping details to the app, so sales reps could inform their customers about the order’s status.
The company was looking for a partner with deep expertise in NetSuite mobility, to help it create such a solution. Having heard great things about Folio3’s strength in the NetSuite mobility space, SimplyThick chose Folio3 as its partner for this project.
To address the requirements while keeping cost constraints in mind, Folio3 developed a cross platform NetSuite mobile app for SimplyThick (within the short span of 5 weeks) that ran on both iPhones and Android phones. The app enables sales reps to take orders directly in NetSuite from their smartphones, see all orders in their NetSuite account, update customers’ addresses and see the fulfillment status and shipping info for each order.
Thanks to this NetSuite mobile solution, SimplyThick has been able to drastically enhance its sales operations, since orders can now be processed instantly as soon as they are entered in the app.
SimplyThick was so pleased with the results that it has engaged Folio3 for adding additional features to the app. The partnership is now approaching its first year.
The primary technologies used in the development of the app include Sencha, NetSuite Restlets, Cordova and the PHP framework.
