Magento Tips & Tricks – Display ‘Only X items are left’ under your products.

Inventory management is the key to success in any online retail operation. As Magento store owners/adminstrators you must have come across situations where only a limited quantity was remaining for a product or products, and you wanted to notify your customers that ‘’Only X items are left’ for that particular product.

Instead of doing this via custom coding, you can use Magento’s default functionality to display this limited quantity notification on your web store. Just follow the steps below in the Magento admin panel to enable this feature.

Please note that this feature only works if you have inventory management enabled in Magento.

Go to System > Catalog > Inventory

In the Inventory menu, just change the threshold value to the one you want. This threshold value will then be applied to all the products listed on your Magento store.
